Volunteer Supervisor Code of Conduct

I agree to follow the Rae of Hope Volunteers Supervisor Code of Conduct while I am serving as a Volunteer Supervisor for Rae of Hope Volunteers.

1. I will always conduct myself in a professional and respectful manner as a representative of Rae of Hope Volunteers — on-site, off-site, and on any social media I use.
2. I understand I am often the only adult from Rae of Hope that a partner organization, a family, or a member of the public ever meets, and I will set the tone for the entire event accordingly.
3. I will model the same conduct expected of the students I supervise, or better. If I wouldn't want a student doing it, I will not do it myself.
4. I will treat every student the same, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, or any other characteristic — including in how I assign tasks, give attention, and enforce rules.
5. I will not tolerate discriminatory language, jokes, or behavior at any event I supervise, from students, partner organizations, or anyone else, and will report it to a coordinator the same day.
6. I will never be alone, one-on-one, with a single student. I will always stay where I can be seen, or have another adult or volunteer present.
7. I will check students in and out accurately, and know who is on-site at all times during my event.
8. I will enforce the Student Volunteer Code of Conduct in the moment — dress, phone use, safety, respect, attendance — addressing issues calmly and directly as they come up.
9. I will be on time and prepared for every event I'm assigned to, arriving early enough to set up and greet students as they check in.
10. I will give at least 24 hours' notice if I cannot make an assigned event, except in a genuine emergency, so a coordinator has time to arrange a replacement. I understand a no-show without notice is treated as a serious issue because of the safety impact on students left without supervision.
11. I will report any injury, safety concern, or conduct issue to a coordinator immediately, the same day — not just make a private note of it for later.
12. I will keep private any student's medical or emergency contact information I see, sharing it only with another supervisor or coordinator who needs it for that same event, and never posting or discussing it anywhere.
13. I will not possess or consume alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substance, and will not possess a weapon, at any Rae of Hope event.
14. I will keep posts about Rae of Hope factual and positive, and will not post or speak as if I'm officially representing Rae of Hope without a coordinator or board member's sign-off.
15. If someone comments, messages, or leaves a review about Rae of Hope, I will pass it to a coordinator rather than responding myself.
16. I understand that because I supervise minors, my own public presence reflects that trust. I will not post or appear in content involving illegal activity, weapons, threatening behavior, bullying or harassment, discrimination, profanity, or nudity or sexual content, whether or not it's connected to Rae of Hope.
17. I will never post an identifiable photo or video of a student without confirmed parental consent, even if I took the photo myself in my role as a supervisor.
18. I will maintain the highest standards of integrity, refusing to participate in gossip or rumors, and will have the courage to speak honestly and report any violation of this Code of Conduct — by myself or a fellow supervisor — to a coordinator or board member.
19. In any situation not specifically covered by this Code of Conduct, I will use my best judgment, and above all, act in a way that reflects positively on Rae of Hope Volunteers.

I understand that because of the trust and access that come with this role, any violation of this Code of Conduct is reviewed by a coordinator or board member — this is not handled informally. Minor issues typically involve a direct conversation and a documented warning. Serious issues — especially anything involving student safety, being alone with a student, an unnotified no-show, confidentiality, discrimination, or anything illegal — can result in my immediate suspension or removal from this role, pending review, and may affect my background-check status on file.

THIS MUST BE SIGNED AND RETURNED TO A RAE OF HOPE COORDINATOR BEFORE SERVING AS A VOLUNTEER SUPERVISOR.
